OVERVIEW


The Assistant/Associate Director of Admission will report to and work closely with the Assistant VP of Enrollment to develop and implement admission goals and strategies. The ADA will maintain primary responsibility for all University goals related to the recruitment of students and providing regional oversight for the Office of Enrollment. The ADA will design, implement and administer appropriate procedures to make the transition of these students to Clarkson as seamless as possible. The ADA is responsible for contributing to the overall recruiting efforts of the University, including planning and implementing procedures and projects for attracting and matriculating a diverse and talented new-student class. The Assistant/Associate Director travels at least 12-16 weeks throughout the recruiting cycle. This position is located in Potsdam, NY.



RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Manage a geographic recruitment territory: successfully manage and increase inquires, applicants, and outreach initiatives.
  • Implement, monitor, and achieve annual recruitment goals for assigned programs and territories, including engagement in consistent prospect follow-up, routine tracking procedures, and development of reports on the inquiry and applicant pools.
  • Correspond and present information about Clarkson to groups of students, parents, educators, and alumni in alignment with preset key performance indicators. Respond with immediacy to the needs of the prospect.
  • Follow-up with students using current contact management guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with high school counselors and maintain market research on primary geographic territory.
  • Assist with Scholarship program and financial aid follow-up.
  • Work effectively within a team environment and facilitate the planning and execution of on-campus and off-campus recruitment events.
  • Direct significant programs within the Enrollment Division including marketing, visit programs, student personnel management, and phone campaigns.
  • Develop and facilitate onboarding/training of all new recruiters.
  • In conjunction with the Assistant Vice President of Enrollment, screens resumes and conducts interviews.
  • In conjunction with the Marketing Department, maintains the Admissions and Financial Aid webpage to ensure that the content is updated/current, including virtual visit sessions.
  • Assist the Vice President of Enrollment in developing, writing, maintaining, and interpreting Admissions policies & procedures.
  • Hosts and attends college career fairs and other off-campus recruitment events, interacting with students and promoting Clarkson University.
  • Design and implement recruitment strategies such as events and social media campaigns, to attract prospective students and potential applicants.
  • Complete Leadership Development training as required.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimal Qualifications:


  • A bachelor’s degree required with a masters preferred.
  • Direct admission experience is preferable (Associate with 4-5 years).
  • 4-6 years’ experience in admissions recruiting, sales, or customer service.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in an education environment and/or transferrable skills.
  • Must obtain a Certified College Recruiter (CCR) Certification and a National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Certification within 6 months of accepting the position

  • Requires excellent functional skills including knowledge of and facility with a variety of desktop computer programs
  • Knowledge of, or experience with Slate is preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of how a robust outreach campaign works and integrates with a larger direct marketing campaign is preferable.
  • The ability to remain current with trends in higher education
  • Ability to manage a recruitment territory, work under tight deadlines, and meet assigned enrollment goals
  • Familiarity with social media sourcing
  • Ability to build strong relationships
